RFID

RFID is the most powerful technology available today to extend the productivity achieved by Internet-based technologies. Specifically, the technology transforms the way businesses track, manage and measure assets. When applied expertly, it produces dramatic cost savings and efficiencies over other tracking technologies, and revolutionizes the customer's experience. IconNicholson is a leader in conceiving and implementing effective RFID solutions from the supply chain to the retail customer environment.

Our Center of Excellence
Leveraging our pioneering experience in RFID technology, we established a Center of Excellence in our office that showcases how new technologies impact the supply chain to the customer experience through applications such as smart shelves and dressing rooms, RFID-enabled POS and perimeter security, conveyor-based RFID readers and more. Those who are assessing, planning or implementing RFID technology, especially in the retail industry, will find a visit to our Center of Excellence valuable in their decision-making and strategizing.
What is RFID?
Radio frequency identification systems consist basically of two components: a tag and a reader. RFID far exceeds the capabilities of printed labels and barcodes because RFID readers automatically capture information on multiple RFID tags without requiring physical line-of-sight or specific orientation. More significantly, because of those properties, RFID technology offers enormous potential to generate high visibility and efficiency across items and processes given back-end integration with software and systems. Ultra high frequency (UHF) RFID applications can instantaneously read thousands of tags from distances of up to four meters, transforming supply chain and asset management business practices at nearly every point along the value chain.
RFID Service Offerings
We've been helping transform businesses and pioneering the high value use of RFID technology since our first retail implementation in 1999. Our solutions have dramatically enhanced the customer shopping experience, inventory management, perimeter security, point of sale, warehouse operations and many other areas in the supply chain and consumer environment. We are experts in planning, developing, piloting and deploying smart, customized RFID solutions that effect business transformation and significant ROI.
We're sensitive to the privacy issues that RFID technology may present. We help companies comply with EPCglobal requirements and partner to build the most appropriate application of this technology.
Customer Experience Solutions
Escalate your customer service and your brand's strength by enabling customers and employees to conduct easy, accurate and personalized interactions. RFID applications in the consumer environment empower your customers with the specific information they individually want, which in turn enhances up-selling and cross-selling. It's advanced CRM in real time.
Asset and Inventory Management
RFID can provide total visibility into your assets and inventory so you know in real time what you have, where, and where it has been. The technology helps radically reduce shrinkage in the supply chain and in the store due to lost, stolen or wasted products and creates transparency throughout your business.
Supply Chain Solutions
RFID can radically increase supply chain efficiency through improved inventory management at any point and better demand planning. RFID reduces the time required to perform labor-intensive activities by making them touch-less and instantaneous, while dramatically increasing the volume, reliability and accuracy of data.
Compliance with EPCglobal Standards
If your most immediate concern is how to comply with RFID edicts from major retailers and other customers, we can help. Your business's success will increasingly depend on meeting the compliance standards of large retailers who are raising the bar with smart shelves and instant auditing demands. We're doing it for others and we can help you.
